meditation - why do it?

I have had many people ask me so what do you get out of meditation. To answer it simply I tell them everything!!! But that usually is not enough of an answer.

Meditation gives me everything I need to survive, from the simple things of not getting angry or upset when life does not go according to my plan. To the ability to live more in my spontaneous all encompassing heart, and less in my critical narrow minded mind.

Then there are the day to day life activities that have changed. Never rising after 6am, everyday of the week, including weekends!! And enjoying it. Taking up running and changing my mind set that running is the most painful, pointless sport. To an absolute love of this challenging and rewarding sport.

But most importantly I have learned to no longer look without but to look within and love every single part of my life.
